Caminhada à Faia Brava aberta à comunidade local, visitantes e sócios

Uma atividade relaxada e de convívio, em que os vários participantes puderam apreciar a paisagem da Reserva da Faia Brava, com o toque do pôr-do-sol. 

Realizou-se, na passada terça-feira, dia 15 de Agosto, em Algodres, uma Caminhada à Reserva Faia Brava, organizada pela Associação Transumância e Natureza, aberta à comunidade local, visitantes e sócios, na qual cerca de 40 pessoas participaram.

Antes da caminhada, os participantes tiveram ainda a oportunidade de visitar o Centro Interpretativo e Museológico de Algodres, que conta um pouco a h

istória da arte de cozer pão. Às 17h30, depois da visita ao centro, o grupo partiu em direção a Hortas da Sabóia.

No percurso da caminhada, o grupo passou pelo Miradouro da Cadeira do Rei, onde pode observar algumas aves e a paisagem que abraça a Reserva da Faia Brava. Durante a caminhada, os participantes tiveram, também a oportunidade de ver algumas das ações de gestão de habitat que a ATN desenvolve para beneficiar a cegonha-preta e o coelho, uma das principais presas das aves de rapina, dentro do projeto LIFE Club de Fincas. 

Para além disso, ainda puderam aprender através de Abel Coito, trabalhador de campo veterano da ATN, mais sobre a biodiversidade da reserva e o trabalho que nela é realizado de conservação da Natureza.

Na chegada às Hortas da Sabóia, depois de 4km a caminhar, o grupo foi recebido com um piquenique, apresentado com o acompanhamento do pôr-do-sol.

“É tudo tão lindo. Adorei tudo”, partilhou connosco, Ana Ventura, uma voluntária na ATN na Campanha de Vigilância de Incêndios, que também participou.  

Já para Arménio Correia foi o "melhor 15 de Agosto" que teve.

Depois de restabelecidas as forças e como a luz já se ia desvanecendo, o grupo de caminhantes seguiu de volta em direção a Algodres.

No final do dia, todos os participantes se mostraram satisfeitos e maravilhados com a caminhada, a paisagem e a riqueza do Oeste Ibérico.

Walk to the Faia Brava Reserve, open to the local community, visitors and members.

A relaxed and convivial activity, in which the various participants could appreciate the landscape of Faia Brava Reserve, with the touch of the sunset.

The Association Transhumance and Nature organized, August 15^th, a walk to the Reserve of Faia Brava, open to the local community, visitors and partners, attended by around 40 people.

Before the walk, the participants also had the opportunity to visit the Algodres Interpretive and Museological Center, which tells the history of the art of baking bread. At 17h30, after the visit to the center, the group left to Hortas da Sabóia.

In the course of the walk, the group passed through the Belvedere of the King's Chair, where they could observe some birds and the landscape that embraces the Faia Brava Reserve. During the walk, participants also had the opportunity to see some of the habitat management actions that ATN develops to benefit the black stork and the rabbit, one of the main prey birds of prey within the LIFE Club Farm Project.

In addition, they were able to learn through Abel Coito, a veteran ATN field worker, more about the biodiversity of the reserve and the work being done on it in nature conservation.

On arrival at the Hortas da Sabóia, after 4km walking, the group was greeted with a picnic, presented with the accompaniment of the sunset.

"It's all so beautiful, wonderful landscape, great reception, space. I loved everything” shared with us, Ana Ventura, a volunteer at ATN in the Fire Surveillance Campaign, who also participated.

Besides Ana, Arménio Correia said that he had the best August 15^th with this walk. 

After the forces were restored and the light was fading away, the group of hikers followed back toward Algodres.

At the end of the day, all the participants were satisfied and amazed by the walk, the landscape and the wealth of the Iberian West.
